In this mid range of Racing Wheels you will find the Fanatec series. I haven’t mentioned the Fanatec series before, because their beginner model comes at a higher price compared to the Logitech and Thrustmaster Racing Wheels. But that doesn’t mean they are overpriced, the quality is still very subjective, although many including myself would rate Fanatec Racing Wheels higher than the previous mentioned brands, they could still be quite expensive when you are browsing for a cheap Beginner/Mid Range wheel.
The Thrustmaster T300 comes in many shapes and forms, and while the motor remains the same, the rim is different. The picture above is the T300 GTE, resembling a Ferrari rim, while the default T300 has a normal rim, and the alcantara edition features the 599XX EVO 30 Wheel Add-On (rim). The TX is the Xbox variant of this wheel, but the internals remain the same.
These Racing Wheels are the Logitech flagship, while they are widely used, compared to Fanatec and Thrustmaster they fall a little short with what they have to offer. While both of these wheels are usually solid and aren’t plagued with many issues, the people that spend this much money, can possibly get a better deal specifications wise from their competitors. I would recommend this wheel for any starter, especially because of its quality.
This is currently the cheapest option when it comes to Fanatec Racing Wheels. But don’t let that scare you, because both of these wheels are absolutely amazing when it comes to their strength output and quality. Fanatec is showing some great german engineering with this product but do note, there is a difference between these versions. The Playstation 4 variant has newer internals, and works at a whopping 1000hz instead of the 500hz on the Xbox alternative. While the difference seems only small, the price difference is a little bigger between the two, with the PS4 being a bit more expensive. Although it does feature a slightly better rim, the choice is yours whether or not this is worth it, in my opinion I would always go for the PS4 edition.
